HYPNOBIRTHING  GROUP COURSES

 £250 per couple (deposit of £50 for booking, remainder due before first session).

A wonderful opportunity to learn the power of hypnobirthing and meet new friends in your area.

The Group Course includes 10 hours teaching time, delivered across your choice of either 4 sessions (2.5 hours per session during weekday evenings and/or weekend mornings); or over 2 sessions if that works better for you (5 hours per session on Saturday/Sundays), with me as your dedicated Hypnobirthing Practitioner. Ideally there would be one week between each session to allow you to process what we have discussed.

During the sessions we will cover a number of topics to ensure you feel physically and emotionally prepared for labour and birth. You will learn:

  • The basics of hypnobirthing, what it is and the science behind it;
  • How your body works during labour, what it feels like and why some women associate birth with pain;
  • Your body’s hormones, why they play a crucial role in your birth experience and how to stimulate the right ones;
  • The importance of deep relaxation during labour and how to achieve it;
  • Optimal positions for labour and birth and how to prepare your body;
  • Essential breathing techniques for each stage of labour;
  • Visualisation, massage and positive affirmations- why they work, and how to do it;
  • The importance of the birth environment;
  • Your birth companion’s role;
  • How to deal with any special circumstances arising during your pregnancy and labour;
  • Recognising and releasing any fears surrounding birth;
  • Understanding your choices about where to have your baby and any medical intervention you may receive;
  • Recognising that babies and labour can be unpredictable, learning how to best prepare yourself for a variety of birth scenarios and understanding how that preparation can positively influence your overall experience of birth;
  • What happens after your baby arrives.
